I had chosen to spend the penultimate night in the town of San Teodoro on the east coast, to get a feel of that part of Sardinia, and also to be within close driving distance to the airport to return the car the following afternoon.
I had waited a bit too late to walk to the beach and walking instead of driving was a mistake too as it was a bit further than I realised, so I got more exercise than I expected. I also started at a less attractive entrance where it was pebbly.
The photos are not outstanding due the murky dusk and no sunset being an east facing beach. However the location did have a soothing albeit sombre ambience.
It probably looks much better in bright sunshine.

Evening in La Maddalena
My B&B was in the outskirts of the town and after checking in and refreshing myself, I drove into town in search of dinner. It was a pleasant evening and I liked the ambience of the old town.
Lots of alfresco diners.
The town marina, close to the ferry terminal.
The coast guard station making abundantly clear where we are.In the event, I ended up at this pizzeria. It was quite filling.

Evening in Santa Teresa Gallura
When I planned the trip, I didn't want to go to La Maddalena island straight after picking up the rental car. So I decided to drive further west and overnight at Santa Teresa Gallura, which is a town at the northern tip of Sardinia.
After checking into the B&B and freshening up. I ventured into the small town at dusk.
This is the town beach, from which Corsica can be seen.Looked like it was still operating in the shoulder season.
The town square.
I got a nice gelato here.
The piazza overlooking the beach.

Calasetta
Calasetta is right on the northwestern tip of Sant'Antioco. It's one end of a ferry connection to the island of San Pietro. It's not a major ferry route, the ferries are for locals and tourists in season. This being off-season absolutely nothing was happening. It's a small town to start with, population about 3000.
Apparently it has Ligurian connections from the early settlers.
I just enjoyed the evening light and took some photos before leaving. A couple of panoramas:
To finish off the day, back in Sant'Antioco town, an after dinner treat that I had.
This was a water vending machine. For a small sum per litre you could fill up your containers with spring water trucked in. The idea was to avoid creating more plastic bottle waste.
